1. Robot 2.0
Robot 2.0 movie’s Hindi version is now the eighth biggest hit of the year. As it has made around Rs 132 crore in the first seven days of its release. Globally, the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark.
Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s sci-fi film 2.0 has bagged over Rs 500 crore at the worldwide box office if all three languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu — are taken into account. In Hindi alone, 2.0 is by far the eighth biggest hit of 2018. And has bagged over Rs 132 crore in the first seven days of business. 2.0 is now a bigger hit than both Stree and Raazi.
Sanju (Rs 342.53 crore) and Padmaavat (Rs 302.15 crore) are the biggest Bollywood hits of the year. 2.0’s co-producer Karan Johar tweeted, “A box office phenomena. 500 crores worldwide. We at Dharma Movies are so proud to be associated with the Hindi version of this movie marvel”.
The Ranbir Kapoor starrer biopic on Sanjay Dutt is not only raking in the moolah at the Indian box-office but also minting money overseas. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial venture Sanju has now crossed the lifetime business of Prabhas starrer Baahubali 2 in Australia. With this new feat, Ranbir Kapoor’s film now stands tall at number three position next to Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat.
Sanju, a story based on actor Sanjay Dutt, has so far earned Rs 341.22 crore, which is big achievement for a Bollywood film. The earning of the movie has surpassed Aamir Khan’s PK’s collection of Rs 340.8 crore.
Initially scheduled to be released in 2017, the movie was caught in a row of controversies and finally got released early this year in January. Set in medieval Rajasthan, the story revolves around the life of Queen Padmavathi, which drew the flak from right-wing groups. Unlike the claims by the religious fanatics, the movie actually portrayed queen Padmavati in the best light. However, the film’s team was asked to remove a few scenes from the movie before its release. Despite the fuss, the movie became a blockbuster at the box office, earning Rs 293 crore.
4. Race 3
Race 3 has been breaking records ever since it hit theatres. After crossing the Rs 150 crore mark in India, the Salman Khanstarrer has crossed the Rs 270 mark worldwide. The latest worldwide earnings of the Remo D’Souza directorial stands at Rs 276.86 crore.
5. Bhaagi 2
It seems there is no stopping Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2 at the box office. Baaghi 2, which had released on March 30, has registered a collection of Rs 155.65 crore at the box office in its third weekend. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed on Twitter that “the mass pockets/single screens remain the main contributors” for the Ahmed Khan directorial’s BO success.
Thugs Of Hindostan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan’s big Diwali release, has earned over Rs 137 crore, trade analyst Taran Adarsh reports. The film hit the screens exactly a week ago to poor reviews, but on the opening day, it scored a half-century at the box office. On Wednesday, Thugs Of Hindostancollected Rs 3.50 crore, the lowest till now. The earning of the Hindi version is as follows. “Thugs Of Hindostan: Thursday 50.75 crore, Friday 28.25 crore, Saturday 22.75 crore, Sunday 17.25 crore, Mon 5.50 crore, Tue 4.35 crore, Wed 3.50 crore. Total: Rs 132.35 crore,” Taran Adarsh tweeted. Adding the collection of Tamil and Telugu versions,Thugs Of Hindostan, in total, has made Rs 137.55 crore.
7. Badhaai Ho
Badhaai Ho is nothing but fun! Made at a 30 crore budget, the movie became a mega-blockbuster, minting Rs 136 crore in the box office.
